about driving the motor at different speed

Postby KimKong » Tue Aug 02, 2016 11:04 am

Hi there,
I wonder if there is any way to drive the motor at different speed. I am trying to use two set of battery and the variable resistor but it doesn't work.

By the way, is it any part available to build the following. I am going to use the motor, a gear and a belt to drive a 3" pulley to simulate the motion of the wheel for cable car. Thanks.

To control the motor speed, use a variable resistor (RV or RV2) and a transistor as shown in SC-300 project 126. Control range on RV (which is 50K ohms) may be narrow, but will be better with RV2 (which is 10K ohms).
Regarding your question about gears & pulleys, check out the SCM-165 Motion set, which includes a geared motor, gears, pulleys, and a merry-go-round.

Hi...i am a new user here. I also had the same question and followed the suggestion give above that to control the motor speed, use a variable resistor and a transistor as shown in SC-300 project 126. Control range on RV may be narrow, but will be better with RV2.
